We are mostly linguists and our work breaks down language barriers between people. We translate approximately one million words a year in combinations with and without Czech. We can handle translating almost anything.

We act in accordance with these values both internally and externally and in this document we declare how we want to be perceived by our customers, vendors and colleagues. We would love to have your support in this effort.

We started from zero. In 2004, two translators living in Olomouc, Václav Baláček and Lukáš Utíkal, decided to work together and rented an office. The early days were tough and it was necessary to work long hours, weekends and nights. But all was going well, the number of satisfied customers grew and the team gradually started to expand. Two years later, the company was certified according to ISO 9001:2001.

The establishment of the Prague office branch followed and the business started using the name České překlady. Before the company achieved its first significant annual turnover in the tens of millions of Czech crowns in 2010, it managed to record its first million translated words (2008) and its first thousand interpreted hours (2009).

České překlady has been helping with the development of the CAT tool Memsource (now Phrase) since 2011. This tool has become the technological basis of the company’s translation process. In the same year, the branch offices in Brno, Plzeň and Ostrava opened

In 2016, we completed our 50,000th job. The following years brought a steady growth in the number of jobs and the company made its way to the top ten largest translation agencies in the Czech Republic. The company became a member of the Association of Czech Translation Agencies. And then it also obtained the international ISO EN 17100 quality certificate and completed its 100,000th job in 2018. 

With 17 employees and more than 1,000 freelancers, it ranked as No. 6 among the largest translation service providers
in the Czech Republic in 2019

Recently, the company has focused on training its clients in the overall organization of the translation process. Everything can be simple and controlled, so the creation of foreign language content is not fragmented, and customers achieve their goal – to get premium quality translations in the shortest possible time and at reasonable cost.
